Baby Swimming Lessons at SwimTastic: Building Water Confidence from the Very Beginning

Introducing your baby to the water from an early age can help build confidence, develop familiarity with the water, and encourage movement in a fun and supportive setting. At SwimTastic, our baby swimming lessons create a safe and enjoyable environment for babies and their parents or caregivers to experience the water together.

SwimTastic's Babies Programme is age-based, not progression-based. Each class is tailored to your child's stage of development, supporting their growth, water confidence, and swimming journey—rather than how quickly they learn new skills. The only exception to this is our Aquatots Advanced class.

Our programme includes five age-based classes:

Snugglebubs (3 - 6 months) A warm and nurturing class designed to support new babies and parents gain confidence in the aquatic environment. We will show you holds, safe entry/exit and activities to get the most out of the water at this young age. You will enjoy this quality bonding time together.

Waterbabies (6 - 12 months) A warm and inviting class for children to become more confident in the water. We encourage movement in, on and around the water. Our instructors provide a stimulating environment for the development of their cognitive skills, balance and stability, hand-eye coordination and water safety.

Waterbabies Advanced (12 - 20 months) A fun energetic swim class to further progress their love of water. As children become more confident in the water they further their breath control and cognitive skills, balance and stability, hand-eye coordination and water safety.

Aquatots (20 - 36 months) Encourage confidence and navigating the aquatic environment. We will help you and your child become comfortable submerging whilst developing propulsion. Water awareness and safety become more important as swimmers start to challenge themselves.

Aquatots Advanced (24 - 36 months) An extension class for swimmers that are happy independently exploring. At this stage we are developing the ability to identify safe zones so swimmers can safely swim 1-2 metres independently.
